The Andrew DiDomenico Memorial Foundation

The Andrew DiDomenico Memorial Foundation was created by Sal and Shari DiDomenico in honor of their cherished son, Andrew. He was not only a beloved son but also a caring brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Andrew tragically lost his life to an impaired driver on June 28, 2024, while working for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, at just 26 years old.

Andrew graduated from Wilcox Technical High School in 2017, where he focused on woodworking in his shop studies. He briefly attended community college before deciding to explore his true career passions. Throughout his life, Andrew held various jobs, including positions with the city of Meriden, the Meriden Golf Course, and Meriden Parks and Recreation. He also earned his commercial driving license. In early 2022, Andrew began working for the Connecticut Department of Transportation at the Wallingford maintenance facility. He found joy in his work and built strong relationships with his coworkers. With a genuine desire to learn and succeed, he frequently volunteered for additional responsibilities and was eager to become qualified to operate different types of machinery. His strong work ethic earned admiration from both colleagues and family, who took great pride in his commitment to serving the community and the state of Connecticut.

In addition to his work, Andrew had a passion for sports and was an enthusiastic golfer. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots, New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, and Duke Basketball.
